Course Summary
In this course, we will explore the value of incorporating physical therapy in the ED. We will discuss the costs associated with caring for fall-related injuries and the benefits of building a falls protocol, and early PT consult. We will help you better understand the concept of value-based care and the positive impacts of PT services in the ED.
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the cost associated with fall-related care and outcomes
- Analyze literature on outcomes related to fall interventions and specifically physical therapy
- Utilize quality improvement strategies to address complex issue of falls in the ED
