The Elder Mistreatment Emergency Department (EMED) Toolkit is designed to support ED professionals in fulfilling this important role. Elder Mistreatment Emergency Department Toolkit Feasibility Case Study Reports

The National Collaboratory to Address Elder Mistreatment implemented the Elder Mistreatment Emergency Department (EMED) Toolkit at 5 institutions. The reports spotlight how each hospital is using the EMED Toolkit to identify and address elder mistreatment. The authors describe how the hospitals previously addressed elder mistreatment, discuss the strategies they used to implement the toolkit, share key factors that affected their implementation of the toolkit, provide a detailed look at the results of using the toolkit, reflect on lessons learned, and discuss next steps.
