Rapid Training Description
This rapid training program has been designed to provide both emergency care workers and long-term care/nursing home workers with an overview of the Treat & Release tool and how to use it to provide better quality of care for frail older adults being transferred to the ED for urgent care. Understanding of this tool will help avoid unnecessary admissions.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Describe the challenges in care transitions between the ED and skilled nursing for frail older adults.
- Identify key sections of the Treat & Release tool that help avoid needless admissions.
- Use the Treat & Release tool based on their role as a skilled nursing care worker or a healthcare provider in the emergency department.
