Elder Mistreatment Toolkit Training: Module 4
This module introduces the elder mistreatment response protocol and provides training on applying it in the emergency department.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this module, ED care providers will be able to:
- Explain the purpose of the Elder Mistreatment Response Protocol (EM-Response Protocol)
- Recognize what information APS (or other designated agency) will need from them in each report of suspected elder mistreatment and how their own documentation can help them make a thorough report
- Recognize the value of a collaborative, patient-centered approach to implementing the EM-Response Protocol
- Complete the EM-Response Protocol Screen fully, accurately, and in a patient-centered manner
