This module introduces the elder mistreatment brief screen and provides training to apply it in the emergency department.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this module, ED care providers will be able to:

  • Explain the purpose of the Elder Mistreatment Brief Screen (EM-Brief Screen), including who is eligible
  • Take concrete steps to help patients feel a sense of safety, heard, and supported during its administration
