Elder Mistreatment Toolkit Training: Module 1

This module introduces key concepts in elder mistreatment and how the EMED toolkit is designed to address these in the emergency department.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this module, ED care providers will be able to:

  • Describe the five types and potential consequences of elder mistreatment
  • Explain their role, and the role of Adult Protective Services, in helping to address elder mistreatment
  • Identify the four core components of the Elder Mistreatment Emergency Department (EMED) Toolkit
