Critical Topics in Elder Mistreatment: Module 3

This module will provide a brief overview of decision-making capacity among older adults within the health care context, including how it relates to the problem of elder mistreatment.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this module, ED care providers will be able to:

  • Identify the four dimensions of decision-making capacity within a health care context
  • Recognize the complexity of assessing and considering decision-making capacity among older adult patients who may be experiencing mistreatment
