# Case Study: Mrs Cado

The Context

You’re seeing Mrs. Cado in the Fast Track area of your ED. She is an 84-year-old woman who arrived by ambulance with right shoulder pain after having a fall at home. Her past medical history includes arthritis, osteoporosis, hypertension, previous MI, and a right hip fracture (8 years ago).

An X-Ray shows an impacted humeral head fracture, stable.

Your plan is to treat her with a shoulder immobilizer, to prescribe acetaminophen for pain, and to arrange follow-up with an orthopedic surgeon in a few weeks.

Watch and discuss.
