# Elder Mistreatment Emergency Department Toolkit

The National Collaboratory to Address Elder Mistreatment

What's Inside

Elder mistreatment affects 1 in 10 older adults, but only 1 in 1000 older adults presenting in the emergency department are diagnosed with elder mistreatment.

This toolkit contains resources that will address that imbalance by assessing staff knowledge and practice, training staff to use simple tools to screen older adults for elder mistreatment and respond to suspected cases, and forging connections with community partners.
