Pre-Activity Assessment
To assess changes in participant knowledge and competence, the Geriatrics Emergency Department Collaborative (GEDC) Educational Curriculum: Falls and Safe module contains both a pre-activity assessment and a Continuing Medical Education (CME) exam (post-test). The pre-activity assessment is designed to test participant knowledge before reviewing the educational content and listening to the corresponding audio companions. These data will be used to help the American Geriatrics Society (AGS) and GEDC to measure the effectiveness of this CME activity.
Before starting the GEDC Educational Curriculum: Falls and Safe Mobility module please complete the pre-test assessment by clicking the button at the bottom of this page or using the left sidebar menu to navigate to the pre-test. The pre-test is designed to facilitate your study of this material. Pre-test questions will be repeated within the CME post-test questions.
Learning Objectives

  • Develop and implement a national educational curriculum for best practices in GED care that includes didactic content
  • Example the effect of falls on the individual and the healthcare system

CME Credit Hours
The AGS designates this enduring material for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. The credit is available from June 12, 2020, through June 12, 2021. All US licensing jurisdictions requiring CME recognize the AMA PRA credit system.
Method of Participation
Based on pilot tests, this activity should take approximately 1 hours to complete. To receive CME credit, participants must complete the pre-activity assessment, review all education modules along with their audio companions, and complete the CME exam (post-test) with at least 70% of the questions answered correctly.
Submission and Notification of CME Examination Performance
The CME exam (post-test) is available at the end of the course. Only after you have completed the course content should you attempt the post-test.
For those who successfully complete the program with at least 70% of the questions answered correctly, a CME certificate will be available for downloading and printing in your Profile on gedcollaborative.com. This CME certificate will be available for printing a maximum of three times, with each duplicate certificate watermarked as duplicate. For those who do not successfully complete the program, the CME exam may be taken and submitted again.
Email questions about the CME program and CME certificates to admin@gedcollaborative.com.
Course Evaluation
The AGS and GEDC would appreciate participants’ comments about the GEDC Educational Curriculum through the Course Evaluation. Comments and suggestions will be taken into consideration by those planning the next edition.
