With support from the non-profit West Health Institute (WHI), Dartmouth-Hitchcock (D-H) is creating a Geriatric Emergency Department (GED) network with protocols, resources, and specialized care areas to optimize the acute care of older adults in the region. D-H is establishing a Level 1 accredited GED ‘hub’ which will leverage telehealth to support rural GED ‘spoke sites’ in the region. DH plans to first pilot the model with four rural EDs in the region, with the potential for expansion in the future.
